The Problem Solved
With the Armistice and demobilization, the decommissioning of hundreds of ships of all types happened quickly. As was predicted during the war, many ML's were laid-up in huge rafted flotillas with no clear destination available. Some would be sold to other navies for continuing military use, many would be converted to civilian use and others would simply be broken up. The civilian conversion wasn't thought to be particularly viable by the editors of The Yachting Monthly as is reflected in this particular cartoon.
